Make A Star Shaped Cake

MUCH TO LIVE! NEW NEWS FROM THE SMALL

Irene, before falling ill, making walking route
Extremadura

Hello, my name is Irene and I have 27 years. Just before falling ill was finishing my studies in Chemical Engineering in Bangkok, going to college, studying, doing my laboratory practice, went to the gym almost daily and also had time to have fun and hang out with my friends.

The June 9, 2010 changed my life. A blood test that I did, it was two weeks leaving bruised easily and had a somewhat strange color, gave alarming results and immediately isolated in the Hospital San Pedro de Alcantara in Caceres (City of which I am). On day 10 I had a bone marrow puncture and the few hours I communicated it: he had Acute Promyelocytic Leukemia. The hematologist gave me much hope, told me that the M3 AML are cured 82% of patients ... That encouraged me, and all he said was: "do whatever is needed as soon as possible because all I know is that I do not want to die."

The next day began to give me chemotherapy, up to 5 cycles. In my room, the 417, she was in my house, I felt no pain, was very hungry and I entertained easily. But once completed those cycles, side effects started ... three weeks without eating! Those days are long and I did my head just thinking about what you eat when you leave the room. Finally the day arrived and my defenses went up after 32 days. I had another puncture and I went home, I just wanted to see my people and eat whatever I wanted.

After consolidations and started back to the hospital. The entry of the 1 st building coincided with the wedding of my friend, and I in the hospital hooked to sueritos pitaban and bombs all the time. But ... surprise, before marriage, my friend came to me saying: "I case today without seeing Irene." That illusion me! But not everything is there, I followed the ceremony via video call and at the end, all other friends came to visit me, all gorgeous. My eyes sparkled like never before and was happy because I realized that I was not physically at the wedding, but I had this every minute. The next day I received a great gift, the bouquet kept it for me and my eyes gleamed anew.

After the 3 rd and final consolidation isolate again, my defenses were down a lot and were slow to rise. I left the hospital on October 11 and there began my big comeback, because he had many lows but with my strength, going back soon.

It's been almost 5 months since I left the hospital and you can not imagine how it has changed my way of seeing life ... As far as I could, I went to London with my sister and a friend. I could not believe me there after all that I happened.

After Christmas I went to resume my career and started studying for exams February: successful test!

Every morning I wake up and feel special. I feel back to live and to seize opportunities, make you feel happier ... give you more zest for life! My future career now I do not know how or where it will be. What we do know is that I have to help people who are going through the same thing I went through, to see that after the dark hallway with many obstacles, there is a light that leads to happiness, so do not be in doubt.

Nitrous Effects Whippets

CHEMISTS THE OPTIMISM OF A

currently Elijah

Hi all, I come, I'm Elijah and I have 20 years. On July 10, 2010, even with 19 I was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia T , accompanied by a large tumor mass in the chest. After fixing the setback that was the bad news, after these months of struggle and is still a long way to go until it is healed, I I have a plan: WANT TO LIVE!

In short, to recover the life I left parked, finishing the race, enjoy myself and travel, travel. I have time to thank each and every one of the people that are going on with me these hard times. I want to help Carreras Foundation and collaborate, to bring people, information about the disease and the need for donors bone marrow and blood umblical cord, because really is very limited and we must make people aware of how important it is. I laugh out loud and crush these eight letters that have changed my life: leukemia. But mostly, I enjoy all those little things I never appreciated and I now know what they are worth: a cafe, a walk, sleep in my bed, and a family Christmas at home, and many others .... I think I have a plan and accomplish!

Thanks to the team of hematologists Prince of Asturias University Hospital, especially Dr. Martin. Thanks also to the nurses and assistants, that is, my women, make what has become a force in my second home, is a real home and all the love and strength you give me.

been almost seven months since I was diagnosed: 1 cycle of remission, 5 of consolidation, many days and nights admitted, 3 punctures in the sternum bone and 1 in the hip bone , 5 lumbar punctures DepoCyte, gallons of serum bicarbonate, many steroids, antibiotics, analgesics and anxiolytics, platelet transfusions, and etc ... endless. But what does not happen is the desire to win the game and fight to LIVE!

Many thanks to all donors of blood, platelets, bone marrow, umbilical cord, tissues, organs, to all those unsung heroes that give hope to those who need your help. Thank you very much!

A bald all, be courageous, that these things we are safe!

A big hug,

Elijah.
